Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Veronica, I’m 17 years old (turning 18 in 2026), and I come from Italy. I live in a lively town with my family and I attend a language high school, where I study English, Spanish, and Chinese.
My native language is Italian, but I speak English and Spanish very well, and I have a basic level of Chinese, which I would love to improve. I’m curious, responsible, and always ready to smile and help. I love being around people, especially children – they bring me joy, energy, and the chance to express my creativity.
Since I was younger, I’ve always had a strong connection with kids. Every summer I babysit my little cousins (3 and 7 years old), and during those days I take care of them, play, read stories, prepare meals, and invent new games to keep them happy and safe. In addition, I work every summer as an educator and group leader in a summer camp, where I help organize activities, games, and fun learning moments for children of different ages.
What I love the most is creating a warm and playful atmosphere – I enjoy organizing games, planning birthday parties, decorating, and making everything feel special. I love cooking, especially Italian dishes, and I’d be very happy to share my culture and recipes with your family. I’m also passionate about sports: I play volleyball, I do windsurfing in the summer, and I love the sea, group games, and being outdoors.
In everyday life, I’m quite independent, positive, tidy, and full of energy. I love organizing things, helping others, and making people feel comfortable around me. Many describe me as calm, kind, and full of life — someone who cares, listens, and takes responsibility seriously.
Thanks to my studies and my experience, I would also be happy to help your children with their homework, especially in languages or basic school subjects. I’m patient and clear when explaining things, and I always try to make learning feel fun and motivating.
Becoming an Au Pair is a dream I’ve had for a while. I see it as an amazing way to grow, improve my language skills, discover a new culture from the inside, and feel part of a family. I’m not just looking for a job – I hope to become a big sister for your children and to build a connection based on trust, joy, and mutual respect.

Thank you for considering my application. I’d love to get to know you better and hopefully start this beautiful adventure with your family!
Warmest wishes, Veronica.

Experience

Although I haven’t officially worked as an Au Pair yet, I have a lot of experience with children. Every summer, I take care of my two little cousins (aged 3 and 7), helping with meals, playtime, bedtime, and daily routines. I also work every summer as a group leader and educator in summer camps, where I organize activities, games, and outdoor experiences for children of different ages. These experiences taught me to be patient, creative, and responsible.
I would like to become an Au Pair abroad because I love learning about other cultures and improving my language skills. I believe living with a host family is the best way to experience real life in another country. I want to support the family in daily life, become a positive presence for the children, and build a relationship based on trust and care. I hope to grow as a person and create memories that will stay with me forever.
