Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Lauren, and I’m currently a university student completing my degree in Medicine alongside a Diploma of French. In 2026, I plan to take a gap year before graduating to see more of the world and experience life beyond my studies. France has always held a special place in my heart — I’ve been connected to the language and culture since my early schooling, and I’m excited about the opportunity to immerse myself more deeply. Becoming an au pair feels like the perfect way to combine my love of French culture with meaningful cultural exchange, while also contributing positively to a family’s daily life.

Experience

While I don’t have formal experience as an au pair yet, I do have plenty of hands-on experience caring for children. Growing up, I often looked after my younger brother and younger cousins, and I’ve always enjoyed spending time with kids. I have also volunteered in university teaching programs with younger children, which gave me the chance to support learning, help with activities, and further develop patience, responsibility, and creativity in working with kids.
