Letter to the family

My name is Alessandra, I am Brazilian, 28 years old, and currently living in Minas Gerais. I am a calm, responsible, and caring person who loves learning about new cultures and ways of life. I have always enjoyed being around children, and I believe that the exchange with them teaches us just as much as we teach them.
I want to become an Au Pair because I see this experience as a unique opportunity for personal growth, maturity, and cultural exchange. More than just helping with childcare, I want to be actively involved in the family’s daily life, contributing with affection, attention, and support. The chance to live in another country, learn new languages, and create meaningful bonds truly motivates me.
I believe you can count on me as someone reliable, with a positive attitude and always willing to help when needed. I am patient, organized, and adapt easily to new routines. I am ready to contribute to the family environment in a gentle, respectful, and loving way.
I have experience caring for seven children in my family and have also helped close friends with their young kids. In addition, I have some very basic knowledge of English and I’m currently studying to improve it. I’m dedicated to my studies, punctual, and open to communication, which I consider essential for living well together.

Experience

I have a rich and affectionate experience caring for children of different ages. From a very young age, I took care of my little cousin from when he was a baby until he turned 2 years old, as well as his 7-year-old sister. I also helped care for other cousins at important times, with ages ranging from 9 months, 4 years, and 10 years, offering attention, playtime, meals, and daily support.
In addition, when I was 17 years old, I worked as a nanny in the countryside of Bahia, looking after a 6-year-old girl. In this role, I was responsible for her entire routine: giving her baths, preparing meals, feeding her, playing with her, taking her to school, and picking her up. This experience taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and the value of bonding with a child.
I would like to become an Au Pair and Nanny abroad because I believe that combining my passion for childcare with the opportunity to experience a new culture will be a truly transformative experience. I enjoy being part of a child’s development, creating safe, joyful, and educational moments, while also learning and growing as a person. Being an Au Pair, to me, is a way to exchange experiences, live a new language in daily life, and build meaningful bonds with an international family.
