Letter to the family

Hello,

I'm writing to let you know a little about myself. I was born in Honduras and moved to the United States in 2013. My parents are both from Guangdong, China; but neither have gone back to China since they moved out and had me. I have never been to China myself, but have some cultural ties with my heritage.

Coming from a small country and into an extremely diverse environment in the United States, I have learned to broaden my perspective and adapt to new environments. I love traveling and working with people of diverse backgrounds as it'll allow me to keep expanding my perspective.

I currently have a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley. I also have certifications in CPR and as a Board Certified Autism Technician. I have a strong background in childcare—I'm the oldest of three siblings and have always helped care for my younger brothers. I worked for a year as a Board Certified Autism Technician, supporting children with special needs through one-on-one care and developmental support. I have also worked as an after school program assistant and lab assistant that required interactions with young children for a developmental study.

As a person, I am generally shy at the beginning, but am extremely friendly as I get to know you better. I am able to adapt to new environments and try to stay open in every situation. While I don't consider myself food picky, I really can't handle spicy food.

Thank you so much for reading my letter and hope you can consider me as your new family member~

Experience

I was born in Honduras and moved to the United States in 2013. I have learned to broaden my perspective and adapt to new environments due to the diversity I was able to experience my entire life. I participated in a cultural exchange program in 2019 and went to Japan for 1 month. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and loved cooking, chatting, playing games, attending events, etc. with my host families. In addition to my previous experience, my love for traveling has also contributed to wanting to go abroad.
