Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Léa, I am 24 years old and I come from France. Currently recent graduate, I am a responsible, caring, and open-minded person. Passionate about cultural exchange, I have always been drawn to the idea of living abroad, especially as an au pair.

I want to become an au pair because I love taking care of children and being part of their daily development. Being integrated into a host family would allow me to improve my language skills while sharing my culture and learning about yours. I see this experience as a great opportunity to grow personally, learn, and create unique bonds.

I believe I could be a good match for your family because I am patient, creative, and well-organized. I enjoy planning fun and educational activities suitable for children's ages. I’m also happy to help with small household tasks to support a balanced family life.

Finally, my experience with children (babysitting, summer camps, homework help...) has taught me how to handle different situations with calm and care. I am motivated, reliable, and ready to fully commit to this human adventure.

Experience

Although I have not yet worked officially as an au pair, I have valuable experience caring for children in my family and community. I have regularly looked after my younger siblings/cousins (adjust as needed), helped them with homework, played games, prepared meals, and ensured their safety and well-being. I have also done occasional babysitting for family friends, which helped me become more confident, patient, and organized. These experiences have strengthened my sense of responsibility and confirmed how much I enjoy working with children.
I would love to become an au pair abroad because I believe it is a unique opportunity to combine two things I am passionate about: caring for children and discovering new cultures. Living with a host family allows for a true cultural exchange—I want to improve my language skills, share my own culture, and learn new ways of life through everyday experiences. Being part of a family environment while supporting them is meaningful to me. I also see this experience as a way to grow personally, become more independent, and build strong connections across borders.
