Letter to the family

Hello, my name is Rosa, I am a 19 years old and live on the West Coast of Scotland. I am taking a year out before starting university to explore and learn about the beauty of the world. I love drinking tea, making fires on the beach, finding bits and bobs to stick on my wall, and wild swimming under the moon.

I am friendly and confident and although it may take me a while to fully understand your Spanish jokes I love to laugh and play. I would love to learn about the way you live life, find the beauty in all the similarities and all the amazing differences. I want to be part of your family, to share with you parts of my life here in Scotland and for you to show me your lives: your favourite food, music, places.

I am fully first aid trained and PVG checked through my work as a lifeguard.
For 6 years I worked as an assistant dance teacher creating a fun atmosphere for children, aged 4-12 yrs, to learn new acrobatic tricks and express themselves through dance.
I also act as a support teacher for a secondary 1 Spanish class, hoping to improve the way young people perceive language lessons and improve my ability to convey instructions.
Over the summer I had the best time working with the 'Smelly Wellie's' kids club as part of the Shettleston community Grow project- aiming to reconnect children to nature through planting, growing and playing loads of games outside. We also created a lot of amazing crafts with things we foraged and went on some fantastic day trips.
I am delighted to have been a leader for the local Rainbows group (girl guides aged 4-7 yrs) a role that has given me the opportunity to give back to the community. We do lots of crafts & games- the role seemingly involves a lot of glitter and paint, which luckily are some of my favourite things.
P.S. I also work in our local pub as a bartender so can whip up some evening drinks for returning parents after a long day.
Hope to hear from you!!

Experience

I believe Au Pairing is an amazing way to fully immerse yourself in the culture and community of a different place. I hope to start my travels doing this as a way to improve my Spanish language skills in order to be able to communicate and befriend more people along my journey. I absolutely adore children, having grown up in a busy house with constant laughter and excitement, I love the energy and fun loving nature of young people.
