Letter to the family

I am currently a Cognitive Systems graduate student at Ulm University and will soon be graduating. I first studied Applied Psychology at undergraduate level, and I have professional knowledge and work experience in psychology and education. Having grown up living with my maternal grandparents, I have a deep affection for elderly people. I helped to care for my younger sister from childhood and later took care of her child. Since coming to Germany, I have gained experience of caring for children of various ages, including six-month-olds, two-year-olds and three-year-olds, as well as interacting with teenagers. Secondly, I would like to integrate more into the local culture, which is difficult to do as an international student. Thirdly, my family's financial situation is not good, and I have been supporting my studies and living expenses through my own earnings for more than a year now, without receiving financial support from home. I enjoy communicating and interacting with people in daily life. I am a good listener and very patient. I don't smoke or drink, I am in good health, I have a simple lifestyle and I have strong life skills.

Experience

Since last year, I have worked various part-time jobs caring for different children. With a two-year-old boy, for example, I would cook for him and accompany him during mealtimes. Then we would tell stories, play with building blocks and engage in role-playing games together. I also cared for a three-year-old girl, with whom I played with toys, read books, and told stories. We also went to the playground to play in the sand and use the slide. I also cared for a six-month-old baby, which involved bottle-feeding, supervising nap time, entertaining him with toys, taking him out to explore his surroundings while talking to him and changing nappies. Having grown up with my maternal grandparents, I would cook for them, help with household chores and grocery shopping, and accompany them to the hospital. I would also chat with them and listen to their stories about their younger days.
