Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Aupair,

We want to welcome you to the beautiful mountains of Colorado! Our family home is situated in a lovely suburban neighborhood 30 minutes to Boulder and 25 minutes to downtown Denver. Although there is public transportation, the best option is to drive a car to get anywhere. My husband, Ricardo is from Brazil and works from home as a consultant to large corporations on their impact on the environment. I am from the USA and my formal training is a nurse. I can communicate in Spanish and Portuguese. Currently I am a stay-at-home mom and realizing that I could use an extra set of hands. After meeting so many happy Aupairs around town, we decided this is something that would be good for our family. Our youngest Lily (11 months), who is gorgeous and mighty, has Down Syndrome and has required a few longer visits to the hospital this year. It would be a great relief for us to have someone around for these situations to help the house continue to function and maintain peace.

We are eager to meet you and hopefully we find a great match in each other!

Job Description

We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic in helping our children grow and thrive and also someone who will contribute to the peace and calm in our house.

It is very important to us that this person would be okay helping with the two older children and tasks of the house if our youngest needs to go to the hospital for an illness (longest stay has been 5 days).

We are looking for someone who can help 30-40hrs a week
1) helping with the children's laundry and room organization
2) Tidying up the house and helping to maintain order (we have professional cleaners)
3) A BIG bonus if you like to cook 2-5x a week
3) Helping transport children to their activities i.e swimming, summer school, dance, music classes
4) occasional date nights
5) Weekends off (and can negotiate and be flexible with your days)
6) Able to drive and a bonus to anyone who can drive a stick (we have an extra car that is a manual) but you are welcome to use our other two cars as well.
7) Some nanny care for the older two during the day when needed.

House has 3 bedrooms, 1 office, 3 bathrooms, fireplace, hot tub. Your room would be a guest bedroom that has its own doors in and out of the house and a bathroom next to room. Kids and parents are upstairs. There is a basement with a large TV and couch for relaxing.
