Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

WE FOUND OUR AUPAIR FOR 2024 so looking for candidates for early 2025 onwards… Hey there! We are a loving family of four who are looking for a caring, responsible and patient Au Pair to join our family.

We have had the same nanny for a few years and will continue to have her around pretty regularly whilst our Aupair stays with us.

I work in technology and my wife is focused on caring for the girls.

Our two daughters are happy, intelligent and never stop (part of the reason we are looking for someone to help us!).

My wife is originally from Melbourne and from Italian heritage.
I'm Brazilian and came to Australia 20 years ago to study but loved it so much I ended up staying.

Our daughter M, 9 years old, is an energetic girl who loves all things girly, like acting, gymnastics, swimming and playing with her friends. She is an extroverted child and loves playing doctor and talking to others. M was diagnosed with ASD and PDA profile so we adopt a low demand lifestyle for her to support her executive function and try to give her as much autonomy as possible whilst creating a safe environment around her. She loves performing arts, catching up with friends and arts and craft so you need to enjoy those as well :)

Our youngest K, 4 years old, is a super funny girl and a joy to be around. She is a little quieter than her sister, but loves to read and play alone. She also likes to play with her friends, but prefers calmer activities. K can get pretty loud at times and coming out of the toddler years she is slowly learning to emotionally regulate. She loves her Montessori kinder and prefers to "do her own thing" unless you are not role playing with her. For K, there is a lot of play/distraction based activities to assist her at bedtime and completing her chores.

We hope you will be a mentor and role model for our daughters.
We think it's important that they have someone they can trust and admire.

Job Description

We are looking for an Au Pair who can take care of our daughters with love and care. It is important that you are patient and emotionally strong.

Having exposure to neurodivergent children is ideal and babysitting experience is essential.
In addition to taking care of our daughters, we think it's important for them have the opportunity to learn a new language and experience new cultures but if you only speak English, that’s not a deal breaker.

Doncaster is a green, leafy suburb with several parks and reserves. The most popular park is Ruffey Lake Park, which has a lake, walking trails and a several playgrounds 5m walking distance.

There are also many running and hiking trails all around where you can generally see lots of wildlife inc kangaroos etc. an electric scooter is also available for you to use and explore both with M as well as on your own time.

Our place is well located with easy access to Melbourne's CBD via freeway and other parts of the city. There are direct buses into the city as well (30m drive / 45m bus).

The ocean beaches on Mornington peninsula are around 1hr drive from our place and the bay area around 40m drive.

We also live 1m walk to the pool and gym and 15m walk from the largest shopping center in the region with several restaurants, shops, cinemas, etc.

Whilst we prefer someone that can drive if needed for occasional drop offs/pickups, a dedicated car might not always be available but if so, can be used by you on your own time.
