Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello and salutations! Our family is looking forward to meeting you; they aLL enjoy being outside and this is a beautiful time of year to visit Vancouver Island. The climate is warm and dry with plenty of outdoor adventures including mountains, forests, lakes and farms to explore. The children take French in school and I’ve taken a couple classes in university; we would love to get to know you and learn more!

Job Description

There are 3 long days (10 hours) every other week and the rest of the childcare is minimal and optional. When caring for them you’ll need to prep simple meals and clean as you go. The children are toilet competent and the younger two only require help wiping. Tuesdays will require a pick up at school 5 minutes away.

Accommodation

We’re on a fenced half acre and you’ll have your own space separate from the house. It’s a 25 foot camper, fully functional with tub, heat & AC, and kitchenette. You are welcome to do your laundry in our home, though if you’d prefer a laundromat, we’re between 2 towns; it’s about a 20 minute drive to both. We are a walk away from the ocean and forests, farms and the ski hill is less than a 30 minute drive. Come explore with us and enjoy the sanctuary our space creates!
