Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair,

We’re so excited to welcome a new member into our family!

We are a family of four living in a spacious home in beautiful Montreal, Canada. We have two wonderful kids — a 10-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy — who are full of energy, curiosity, and a love for learning. We don’t have pets, and we are a non-smoking household.

We are originally from France, and we speak French at home, with a bit of Russian too (it’s the mother's second tongue). As parents, we’re both bilingual (French-English), and we’re looking for a native English speaker to help our kids strengthen their English in a natural and fun way. In return, we’ll be happy to help you immerse yourself in French language and culture.

As a family, we’re open-minded, friendly, and love discovering new cultures and meeting people from around the world. Our daughter is passionate about artistic gymnastics, and our son is into basketball and ping pong — they’re both lively, curious, and love trying new things!

We’re also a family of hobbies:

Mom loves cooking, music, and staying active through sports.

Dad enjoys playing the piano, reading, and making his famous pancakes on weekends!

We’re both working parents, so we’d love your help with:

Picking the kids up from school

Helping with homework and school projects

Taking them to after-school activities

And simply being there as a positive presence in their daily routine

We truly see our au pair as a part of the family — not just someone who helps out. You'll have your own private space in our house, including a bedroom, bathroom with a shower, and even your own living room to relax in.

If you’re warm, responsible, and excited to experience life with a French-speaking family in Canada — while helping two great kids grow and thrive — we’d love to get to know you!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Job Description

We’re looking for someone who is caring, responsible, and genuinely enjoys spending time with children. Your main role will be to help us with the afterschool routine—picking up the kids from school, accompanying them to their sports activities, helping with homework, and spending quality time with them in a fun, supportive way.

We’d love for you to speak English with the kids to help them strengthen their language skills (we speak French at home, and sometimes Russian). In return, we’re happy to support your immersion into French culture and language.

Occasionally, we might ask for help in the morning or during school holidays, but you will always have time for yourself, including free weekends and dedicated rest time. We’ll treat you as part of the family while respecting your space and independence—we want this to be a warm and enriching experience for both you and us!
