Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear AuPair,

We are looking for a new au pair from Juli/August 25 for one year. We have had au pairs for 7 years and this concept suits us really well!

We see hosting an au pair as an extension of our family and are therefore looking forward to welcoming a young person who fits in well with us. We are adventurous, sociable and travel a lot and would therefore also welcome a fun and friendly person who would like to experience something new.

We speak German in the family.

We live in Frankfurt in the middle of the city, the city center can be reached in 10 minutes by subway and the apartment is right next to the university with spacious parks and small bars.

As you can already see from the description of our everyday life, we don't need many hours of support with the supervision of several children, but above all flexible support for special situations if my mother should ever be ill or if we are both away on business at the same time or if we both want to go to sports or have an appointment at the same time.

All our kids do a lot of sports so it's important for us that the aupair enjoys an active lifestyle and for example enjoys playing outside with our kids in the garden every day...

It is therefore very important to us that we support each other and react flexibly to situations as they arise, without sticking to fixed times. If you get along well, the au pair can also accompany us on vacation or on weekend trips.

We look forward to getting to know you

Job Description

This is a typical day for an au pair:

Mon-Fri:
In the morning we get up between 7 and 8 am, the au pair is supposed to make breakfast for the children from 7.00 or 8 am, depending on when school starts. At 7.45 - 8.30 the children go to school and Alex and Iris leave the house. The morning is free, most of the aupairs have gone to language school in the morning. My mother comes at 11.30 and cooks lunch for the children, who are back home between 12.30 and 14.30

In the afternoons, Mia, Lea and Benjamin have to be accompanied to their respective activities by subway and bicycle from 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

In the evenings, Iris usually comes home between 6-7 pm if there are no evening appointments or business trips. Iris' mother leaves at 6.30 pm after the children have eaten dinner. From 7.30pm Iris and Alex put the children to bed and the evening is free, but it would be good if the au pair is usually at home with us so that the sleeping children are not alone at home when Alex and I have to go out again. All the children sleep through the night from 8.00 pm - 7.00 am.

At the weekend we often have friends over or are out and about. The aupair can have a day off at the weekend but is expected to babysit on Friday or Saturday, otherwise there is usually not much to do at the weekend.
