Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are looking for an Au Pair to support our Italo-Canadian family in caring for our three year old twin boys in Milan, Italy for 4-12 months starting in January 2025. We are currently hosting our fifth au pair and have been very happy with the au pair experience thus far. Both my husband and I participated in exchange programs during university, so we love learning about other cultures. We are looking forward to welcoming you into our home and showing you the best Milan has to offer. We are a bilingual household so you can brush up on your English and/or Italian. Our apartment is situated in the heart of Milan and I split over two storeys, offering you plenty of privacy with your own spacious bedroom, bathroom and laundry facilities.

Job Description

Our expectation in terms of childcare include 4-5 hours per day (average), 6 days per week. Occasionally we would ask you to accompany up on weekend getaways. Main tasks include watching over/playing with the twins, helping with laundry, meals and bed time, keeping your space and the kids’ spaces tidy. My husband works full time on weekdays and I work part time from home. The twins are enrolled at the neighbourhood pre-K (albeit they tend to stay home a lot due to common colds circulating in their classrooms).

Accommodation

Our apartment is split over two storeys, offering you plenty of privacy with your own spacious bedroom, bathroom and laundry facilities. We are situated in the heat of Milan and is within walking distance to the most popular tourist destinations. The nearest metro station is 500 meters away and we would be happy to lend you one of our bikes. Milan is the world’s design capital and both my husband and I are designers so we know the design scene intimately. We look forward to showing you the best Milan has to offer, including great museums, shops and restaurants.
