Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello! We are a family of three, two parents and an infant, who are looking to welcome an au pair into our home for 1 year. Both myself and my husband traveled extensively internationally for work in our 20s and like the idea of introducing a young person to American customs and culture. You would be helping us with our son who will be 1 year old in December 2025. We will be moving to Rhode Island--America's smallest state!--in December 2025 and are looking for an au pair to join us in the beautiful Ocean State. We have family in various parts of the country from the forest of New England and the Deep South to Washington, D.C. and hope to build short trips to these places into your time with us so we can introduce you to more of this big, varied country of ours.

Job Description

The job involves engaging and playing with and caring for a young infant during the work day (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday). We also have a friendly but high-energy large dog who will be with you during this time. Light household chores, for example helping swap out dishes or fold laundry during the workday, is also included but we recognize that watching a young baby can be a lot so cleaning is very much secondary.

Everyone in our household (except the baby!) generally cleans up after themselves and we'd ask that you do the same.
