Ettore attends a private bilingual school even though he is not verbal (he communicates with signs or the tablet) and our idea is that he can continue to attend this school in the coming years, but he has difficulty during English lessons because the support teacher does not know English and tends to translate everything into Italian. At the moment he has difficulty understanding and writing. We hope that by attending a native speaker at home I can improve this gap.
We parents also do not know English well.
The au pair will have to help Ettore with his homework, play with him because he is a child with little autonomy, he has always been used to having an adult at his side.
We are also considering support at school (if the school allows it) during English lessons.
Finally, the au pair will have to keep his/her room tidy and help with daily tasks at home, involving Ettore in the autonomy (setting the table, helping him/her get dressed, packing his/her school bag, walking him/her to town, small purchases, etc.). We will evaluate possible independent car trips.
