Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Future Au Pair,

Would you like to spend a month (or more!) in one of the most exciting regions of Italy — and join us for some summer adventures in the mountains?

When: From mid-June to the end of July (or possibly longer)

We’re a friendly and active family with two daughters. Our youngest is 9 years old and lives in a magical world of games, painting, horse riding, and singing. Our eldest is 18 — she could be like a big sister to you!

We live in Vicenza, a beautiful city in northeastern Italy, just one hour from Venice, Verona, Treviso, the Dolomites, and Lake Garda. We also have a second home in the mountains where we spend part of the summer, and we often take weekend trips to the beach near Venice or to Lake Garda.

Our home is located in the historic center of Vicenza (on the High Street), just a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station — very convenient for exploring!

We’re looking for a kind, responsible, and cheerful girl who’s excited to share experiences, discover a new culture, and have fun together.

We live on the High Street of Vicenza, right in the heart of the city where all the shops and bars are located. You will have your own private room and bathroom.

Vicenza is a beautiful city in northeastern Italy, in the Veneto region. Take a look on Google Maps to see where we are! We’re close to the mountains, the beaches, and Lake Garda — perfect for weekend trips.

Vicenza is a vibrant and international city with a rich history and culture. It’s home to many museums, art galleries, piazzas, villas, churches, and elegant Renaissance palaces. Known as the "City of Palladio," it features stunning architecture by the famous Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, including the renowned Teatro Olimpico. The Palladian Villas of the Veneto and the historic center of Vicenza have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1994.

With around 130,000 inhabitants, Vicenza is a small-to-medium-sized city. Thanks to the nearby American military base, it’s quite common to meet Americans in local bars and around town.
