Dear future host family,
my name is Camilla.
I’m a 17 year-old girl from Italy, more specifically from Livorno, a city on the tuscan seaside.

ABOUT MY FAMILY:

My family is quite big, there are my parents, my 2 younger sisters and our pets!
My dad works as an electronic engineer for an observatory that studies and detects gravitational waves.
My mom works in the recruitment office of our city hall.
As I mentioned before, we have a few pets.We have a dog, a cat, two tortoises and lots of fishes! As you can probably guess, we are animal lovers!

ABOUT ME:

I would describe myself as a simple, respectful and kind person.
I can be a little shy at first but it doesn’t usually take me that long to open up to the others, i just need to get to know them a little better before opening up!
I am a curious person and I like trying new things. I really like making food for the people I love and care about as that how I show my affection for them!

WHAT I DO IN MY SPARE TIME:

In my free time I enjoy baking, listening to music and spending time with my friends.
I also like going on walks with my dog, we usually go take a stroll in the woods near my house.
Another hobby of mine is watching movies, i love going to cinema with my friends and see all our favourites on the big screen!
I love music, especially classical music. That’s the reason why I’d like to start playing the piano:)
Another thing i love to do is studying languages! I am currently studying english, spanish and german at school and in my free time I’m also trying to learn a little korean. I really wanted to learn a language that had a different alphabet, that’s how I picked korean!

MY EXPERIENCE WITH KIDS:

I would say i do have experience with kids. I have two younger sisters and I take care of them during the summer. They’re pretty independent now but, not so long ago, they used to rely on me all the time; I would wake them up in the morning and make sure they had breakfast and then I’d help the youngest one with her homework. We would then play together and I’d always try to come up with fun activities to do together, my sisters and I are pretty creative so we’ve always liked to make little handmade gifts for our parents.

ABOUT MY EDUCATION:

I’m currently in my 4th year of high school, I still have one more year to go until I graduate. I’m studying languages at the moment, I study english, spanish and german!
I have a Cambridge C1 certificate and I’m currently studying for the Proficiency exam. I also have a B1 certificate for german and I’m studying to get a B2!

WHAT LANGUAGES I SPEAK:

Italian is my first language. I speak english fluently, I had the opportunity to go to the Uk multiple times to improve my language speaking skills. I also speak german and spanish but I would not say that I can speak fluently. I started studying german 7 years ago but I still have a long road ahead of me!

WHY I’D LIKE TO BE AN AU PAIR:

I would like to be an au pair because I think it’d give me an opportunity to improve on a personal level, I am pretty responsible but I think being with kids would allow me to become an even better version of myself. I would love to be able to learn about another culture! I would also like to learn a few traditional recipes from other countries:)
