We're a family of 4 looking forward to hosting an au pair this summer! The dad is an engineer working for a global energy company remotely, and during the summer works "only" until lunch time Monday to Friday, and it would be a really nice experience for the two kids (3 and 5) to experience new cultures and languages. The mum works in one of the major Museums in Madrid as head of institutional relationships, with a background as curator.

The 21st of June will be the last day at school and that would be our main focus, from 24/June until 2/August, but we are flexible before and after of course.

We live in a residential town outside Madrid, a really nice place to live for a family. We live in an apartment with shared facilities such as private gardens, swimming pools, and so on.

The apartment has also a separate studio with private bathroom but no kitchen (~30sqm) on the penthouse, and the au pair will have the choice to stay in the studio or in the apartment on a private room, shared bathroom, etc.

The town has all the services walking distance, language schools, restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores.. all of these around 5 minutes walking distance.

If you want to travel to the big city, the best option is the bus. The stop is literally in front of the apartment and it takes around 15 minutes to get to the city center where you can connect with the underground network or the city buses. There is also a train station 15 minutes walking distance or taking the same bus for a couple of minutes, which is probably the best choice to get to the high speed train network for domestic trips, or to get to the airport.

Job Beschreibung

We are looking for an au pair that can support us during the working hours Monday to Friday, we are quite flexible as the dad works from home and can be with the kids occasionally during working hours as well, so a typical day would start around 8am despite the kids may be sleeping. They will have breakfast and spend the day with the au pair until around 2.30pm. During this time you will be free to choose what to do, but we can suggest of course, there are parks within walking distance, there will be more kids in the private gardens and swimming pools so that is another good option, and the kids also enjoy playing at home or doing crafts.
We will help preparing sometimes lunch, but some basic cooking is preferred. They would normally have lunch any where in between 12am and 2pm, but you will be able to set up your own routines for them.
During the weekend there are no expectations from the au pair, but of course we'll be so happy to having you as another family member and do things together!
If you plan to travel on the weekends or any other plans we can be flexible if for example you need to take an earlier train/plane to get to your weekend destination.

Au Pair Unterbringung

There are two options, a private room in the apartment with a shared bathroom, or a private studio of ~30sqm and private bathroom, all with wifi connection.
The studio is on the penthouse so it is more likely to require the AC for a comfortable temperature during the summer, the apartment however is on the 1st floor and it is normally not needed - but available of course!
