Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Jessie, and I am a 21 year old currently working in care and as a gardener in the UK. I am a caring, responsible, and motivated individual with a strong background in support work and childcare. I’m also currently on a journey to take the B2/C1 German exams, with hopes of doing job training for gardening in the future. This opportunity would allow me to contribute meaningfully to your household while deepening my cultural and linguistic understanding.

I am particularly drawn to be an aupair because it combines two things I care deeply about: caregiving and intercultural exchange. I believe living with and supporting someone is not just about offering help, but also about building mutual trust, respect, and companionship. I value the richness of intergenerational relationships and see them as a unique way to grow both personally and professionally.

My experience in caregiving comes primarily from working for over a year in the Newton Dee Camphill Community in Scotland. There, I supported neurodivergent individuals of different ages in a residential setting. My duties included assisting with daily routines, planning and supervising outings, housekeeping, cooking, and administering first aid and medication where needed. This experience taught me how to be calm, adaptable, and reliable in all types of situations.

In addition to my professional background, I’ve also spent several years helping to care for my younger brothers, now aged 9 and 12. Through also babysitting for many families and daily responsibilities at home, I’ve gained practical skills in childcare, emotional support, and managing household tasks. These experiences have made me confident in creating safe and engaging environments for children and adults alike.

I believe I would make a great addition to your home because I am not only experienced, but also genuinely enjoy supporting others. I bring a warm and respectful attitude, a willingness to help with everyday tasks, and a strong sense of responsibility. I also understand the importance of clear communication, especially in a shared living environment.

I am excited about the possibility of joining your household and contributing positively to your daily life. I see this not just as a work opportunity, but as a meaningful cultural and personal journey.

Thank you for looking at my profile — I look forward to hearing from you!

Warm regards,

Jessie

Experience

I have over a year of hands-on experience living and working in a supportive care environment at Newton Dee Camphill Community in Scotland, where I assisted neurodivergent and disabled individuals of various ages. My responsibilities included daily routines, personal care, organizing outings, housekeeping, and administering first aid and medications. This experience taught me how to build trust, remain calm under pressure, and create a warm and structured living environment.

In addition to this, I’ve spent several years caring for my younger brothers, now aged 9 and 12, as well as babysitting for many families. This has given me strong childcare and household management skills.
