Fátima (21 / Ms. ), Spanish, Student living in Spain looking for Au Pair & Nanny job in France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway & Netherlands for 1-3 Months

Dear future host family,

I'm Fátima, a 21-year-old Spanish girl. Specifically, I'm from the north of Spain, from the Basque Country. Let me tell you something about my land. I live in a village half an hour away from a small city, . The area where I live is on the coast, so I can enjoy both the sea and the mountains. However, it is true that it is not usually sunny, and although I love the heat, I am used to the cold and the rain. I have lived here all my life, with my mother, my father, my older sister and my dog. However, now I only live with my father and my 12-year-old dog.

As for my studies, I have studied Primary Education (Trilingual), in which I have studied subjects in English, as well as I have specialized in this language to be an English teacher in the future. I have always liked English, in fact, I studied from the age of 3 to 18 in an Irish school, in which many subjects were studied in English. Likewise, years ago I went to England for two months to continue learning English with an academy. It is worth mentioning that although I am not independent, I have lived alone for 6 months in another city in Spain, Barcelona.

What I can tell about myself? I am an independent, organised, clean and responsible girl. I am self-sufficient: I do the shopping, cook, tidy and clean the house where I live. I would be happy to do the housework while staying at your house. Moreover, I study at the university in the morning and in the afternoon I work three hours as a nanny and one giving private lessons, so organisation is a must in my routine. Besides, I love socialising, I am very cheerful, empathetic and I have a lot of patience.

Regarding my experience with children, I have been working with them since I was 15 years old. The first years, I started tutoring children between 9 and 12 years old. After that, I registered on websites and started babysitting for different families with children between 2 and 9 years old. Likewise, when I finished school at the age of 18, some teachers contacted me to babysit their children. In the same way, a university teacher recommended me to some families to give private lessons to their children. In general, I consider that I have experience with children of all ages, I adapt myself to each family, I learn very fast (how to put nappies for example) and I have not had any bad experiences with any family. I could get recommendations from many families I am still in contact with, including the family I spent two months with in England, who at the time had a 7-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son.

As for my hobbies, what I enjoy most is spending time outdoors, both walking and adventures. I also love spending time with animals, especially dogs. In my family I have always been surrounded by animals, in particular, my uncle and sister are veterinarians. I also worked as a volunteer dog walker at a shelter a few years ago.

I like travelling, discovering new things: people, places, cultures... When I was 18 I travelled around Europe for a month with my friends, and I also visited many parts of Spain. Whenever I travel I feel that I grow as a person, I learn a lot about myself and I love it.

In addition, I would add that I have driven since 2020 when I got the license. I use the car every day: to go to university, to pick up the children from school, to go to the house where I give private lessons, to travel to nearby places... I feel very safe driving, so I would be happy to take your children wherever they need to go. Moreover, I have not committed any offence, nor have I had any driving sanctions.

The reason why I would like to live this experience, firstly, is to improve my English and become fluent in it, as I would like to become an English teacher in the future. Secondly, I want to travel alone to another country, get out of my comfort zone and meet different people and cultures. Thirdly, I really want to spend my summer time with children, I love babysitting, playing with them, taking care of them, and learning many new things with them. Finally, it would be a pleasure for me to be part of your family during that period.
