Sydney (24 / Ms. ), American & Canadian, Bartender living in USA looking for Au Pair & Nanny job in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama & Peru for 3-12 Months

My name is Sydney Laurel Knowles-Donnelly. I have lived in many places and experienced many cultures compared to a lot of my peers in the USA. I grew up in the Virgin Islands on St. John, so I came up with West Indian culture around me. Ive spent time in Canada as my grandmother is Canadian, and I've traveled all through the east coast of the USA. Right now I live in Asheville, North Carolina, which is located in the Appalachian mountains. I believe experiencing different people from different countries has given me a more open mind and a more rounded perspective of how I see the world. I think it is also why I seek to experience other cultures. Experiencing different cultures is a joyful experience for me. I love learning AND teaching through experiencing, asking questions and giving different perspectives. And I am a music nerd!

I am experienced working with children, the elderly, dogs and people. I think my character has lead me to gravitate toward these kinds of jobs. In my experience, kids tend to love me. I think kids should express themselves and I encourage this. I think the formative years are a foundational time for children, and being able to foster a strong sense of self in the children I work with is a goal of mine. Self assurance, self confidence and self love is what I hope I can impart on the kids who need it, because I think these are traits that will allow children to become successful in whatever they do. I think to me, being a nanny is being a teacher, a guide and a friend. I would like to be creative together, to play and go on adventures. I love to go on outings and do planned activities, or just go out in the backyard and see what we can explore. Even staying in and drawing together, listening to music and dancing, playing dress up, reading, watching movies. The best time to me is quality time, experiencing and doing activities together is the most bonding thing. I think I have a strong spirit of my inner child. I also enjoy being a teacher and helping kids understand concepts, whether it be academic concepts, social concepts, etc. I like to help people solve their problems, this is fulfilling to me.

I think I'd be a great candidate to be hosted by a family because I am responsible adult. I live in an apartment that I rent with 2 other people. I definitely know how to cohabitate and be respectful living with other individuals. I have a full time job where I make great money and am able to save my money. I have a dog, he is like my son, and he will stay with my mom while I am gone.
