Letter to the family

My name is Larissa, I am 23 years old and I’m from Brazil. I am currently finishing my degree in Pedagogy and Social Work two fields that reflect my commitment to care, education, and human development, especially for children.

I have extensive experience with children. I worked for two years at a Municipal School of Early Childhood Education (EMEI), caring for and supporting children between the ages of 1 and 6. Through these experiences, I developed essential skills such as patience, attentive listening, responsibility, and the ability to build affectionate bonds with both children and their families.

In addition to my hands-on experience, I have continuously sought to improve my qualifications. I have completed a First Aid course, as well as specific training on ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which allows me to care for children with specific needs in a respectful, attentive, and inclusive way. I’m a calm, patient, responsible person, and I dedicate myself fully to everything I do.

I want to become an au pair because I believe this is a unique opportunity for mutual growth for me and for the host family. I’m deeply interested in learning about new cultures, improving my English and Spanish, and fully experiencing the daily life of a family in another country, while offering the best of myself as a caregiver, companion, and educator for the children.

Experience

I have extensive experience in childcare, although I have not officially participated in an Au Pair program abroad yet.

For two years, I worked professionally at a Municipal School of Early Childhood Education (EMEI), where I cared for children between the ages of 1 and 6. There, I was involved in all aspects of the daily school routine: meals, hygiene, nap time, playtime, educational and recreational activities, as well as emotional support. This experience taught me a lot about the importance of attentive listening, patience, and building strong bonds with children.

In addition, I have also participated in volunteer work with children, which helped me further develop my creativity and ability to adapt to different situations and child profiles.

I have completed courses in First Aid, ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which qualify me to care for children with specific needs in a respectful, attentive, and sensitive way.

I am passionate about the world of childhood, and even though I haven’t been an Au Pair before, I truly believe that my academic background and hands-on experience have prepared me very well for this new journey.
