Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Lana and I’m a 24 year old girl from Slovenia. I’ve been an au pair once before, in 2020, but due to the pandemic, my time with the host family was unfortunately cut short. Still, it was a great experience and it’s something I’d love to do again.
I love spending time with kids and experiencing new things and learning about different cultures. I spent two years in university, where i studied sinology, so I have a basic understanding of the Chinese language, and east Asian culture and history.

Experience

I was an au pair in 2020 to a family with three boys, aged 2, 4 and 6. They lived in the countryside in Scotland. This was during the pandemic, so the parents worked from home and I was tasked with looking after them during the parents’ work hours and also the occasional afternoon that they spent away from home. I am the youngest in my immediate family, so I was never asked to look after any younger siblings, but that just makes me more excited to be a big sister to someone. We do have a few younger nieces and nephews in our extended family, and I was always happy to look after them and play with them.
