Letter to the family

Hello, I’m Rikako:) 26 years old from Japan. I love travelling, learning about new cultures and meeting new people!

I have been teaching exercises to children that have developmental delays in Japan since 2022. I also have experience with Au pair, which I have done in Australia once. I am very passionate when it comes to childcare, and it gives me great joy taking care of children as they teach me the importance of honesty, effort and gratitude.

I enjoy doing many fun activities with kids, which I will happily do with your children. Activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor sports and play, reading, singing, dancing and interactive conversations just some of the things I can engage the children with. I will spare no effort to get along with them!

I am also happy to help with general household jobs and will ensure to respectfully follow your house rules! Cooking is one of the many tasks that I am excited to do for you;)
I don’t eat meat, so vegetarian food is my favourite to make. I would also love to learn traditional recipes from your country that you enjoy!

I have many years of travel and have experienced many countries and cultures. My first experience abroad was in Ireland six years ago, where I studied English for one year. In Australia, I have done a farm stay (WWOOF), and Au pair which I mentioned previously.

Experience

I have experience with Au pair, which I did in Perth, Australia last year. My previous host family had four kids, and I really enjoyed being part of the family. My roles included many household jobs such as cooking, cleaning, and babysitting.
In the beginning of the stay, the kids were very shy with me; but I always tried my best to get along with them. I did this by joining and engaging them in activities such as cooking, drawing, watching movies, playing board and card games and some sports. The children became so open and close to me during my stay, that they started treating me as their older sister. This was the best experience I have had with a home stay abroad in my opinion.

Living in Perth was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life:) It is always interesting to learn about the culture and lifestyle in another country.
