Letter to the family

Hello, my name is Mariana, I am a nutritionist from Brazil. Currently, I am living in Israel as a volunteer, working with autistic adults. This experience has been extremely enriching and has helped me develop important skills such as patience, empathy, and good communication.

I have a younger brother, 7 years old, with Down syndrome, and this has inspired me to work with children with special needs. Taking care of him has taught me the importance of providing personalized support, creating a nurturing environment, and stimulating emotional and physical development.

In addition to my professional experience, I also conducted a research paper focusing on the nutrition of adults with Down syndrome across the entire Região dos Lagos region in Rio de Janeiro. This project helped me understand the unique nutritional needs and challenges of this population, further deepening my passion for working with individuals with special needs.

I have also worked as a nutritionist intern in emergency care at a hospital, geriatrics, schools (from children to teenagers), and in an association for children and adults with disabilities. These experiences have given me a diverse skill set in working with different age groups and medical conditions, which I believe will be valuable in my role as an au pair.

I am committed to offering care, education, and fun for children while supporting families in their daily routines. My goal as an au pair is to share my experience, learn about new cultures, and grow both personally and professionally.

I would be happy to discuss my qualifications further and am excited to be part of your family!

Experience

1. Experience with Special Needs: I have personal experience with my 7-year-old brother, who has Down syndrome, and I also volunteer with autistic adults. This has helped me develop strong empathy, patience, and the ability to work with individuals with special needs, which is essential when caring for children, especially those with specific needs.
2. Education and Research in Nutrition: I am a nutritionist with valuable knowledge about health and well-being, which I can apply to caring for children. I also conducted a research study on the nutrition of adults with Down syndrome in the Região dos Lagos area of Rio de Janeiro, demonstrating my commitment to understanding the dietary and health needs of this population.
3. Diverse Experience: I have professional experience in various areas of nutrition, such as hospital emergency care, geriatrics, schools (from children to teenagers), and in an association supporting children and adults with disabilities. This has prepared me to handle different situations and challenges, offering support in diverse settings.
4. Cultural Adaptation and Growth: I am currently living in Israel and adapting to a new culture, which shows my ability to integrate well into different environments. I believe this will be a great advantage in integrating with your family and adapting to the daily dynamics.
5. Commitment and Personalized Care: I am committed to children’s well-being and have the ability to create safe, educational, and nurturing environments. My experience in different fields allows me to offer personalized care, meeting the individual needs of children, whether emotional, educational, or physical.

With this combination of practical experience, professional training, and dedication, I believe I am an ideal candidate for the au pair position.
