Cassidy (20 / Ms. ), American, Child Care Worker living in USA looking for Au Pair & Nanny job in Brazil & Portugal for 3-24 Months

Hello!! My name is Cassidy! I am a 19 year old (soon 20), born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri!!

I am currently working on my second year of university in my 4 year plan of becoming an educator! I hope to teach Kindergarten, second grade, or elementary or middle school art classes!

One reason I believe I would be good for a family abroad, is I have a lot of knowledge and experience of the world! Travel and language learning is a huge passion of mine. I currently speak 3 languages, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with hopes to learn many more. I am happy to pass on these said skills to your children, as I absolutely adore teaching! I have been very passionate about art since a child as well, and love to help others experience their creative selves as well!! I am an extremely responsible person, and have been known as such pretty much my whole life, haha! Whenever my friends go out, they always say “Hmmm…is Cassidy going? Okay then.” I pride myself on being what I call myself a “Mom friend.”

I have been working with kids for about 6 years now, and absolutely adore it! I started out, age 14, as a gymnastics coach for ages 4-13!! It really gave me a wonderful first experience on how to work with large groups of kids. I worked with about 6 kids on average by myself. I then worked, at a similar ratio and age group, with kiddos at an all day-all night summer camp for about 4 weeks straight each time around. I did this for about 3 years. It really helped me understand the important of trust, and making a child feel at home in new surroundings. When I was 17, I student taught through a program at my high school, where I went into an elementary art classroom and helped for 4 hours every day, year round. I learned so incredibly much from this experience, such as managing large amounts of kids, keeping your cool under lots of pressure, and continuing to hold a positive attitude in the face of frustration. Starting at 18, I started working at the after school program at the district here. I work with a wide variety of elementary ages, around 5-10 years old. I work in one of the schools notorious for very difficult children in the district. This is where I have blossomed and grown the most into my position and my own teaching standards and morality regarding education, discipline, and such. Every child is very different and requires different needs and approaches. This job has taught me how to contain myself under mass amounts of stress, and most importantly, how to bounce back from that and keep living each day as though it is a new one. I like to wake up refreshed, and come back knowing that the tribulations we faced the day past, is exactly that, in the past. Children are new people with new personalities every day, and we need to be fit to adapt to that. I also run a Spanish club and an art club in this program to open the kids to new ideas! I adore my job, and thinking of leaving it kills me, but I am excited to look for more opportunities abroad.
