Letter to the family

My name is Assia and I was born in London to mixed parents. This has provided me with an extremely cultured and cosmopolitan experience and an adaptable personality.

I am a 2020 graduate of History and Arabic at SOAS university of London. I also have a Level 5 diploma in Teaching English as a foreign Language and 7 years experience tutoring, teaching and mentoring. I have experience working in local, private, national (British) and international settings which has allowed me to grasp the positives of each environment and gain awareness of what succeeds. This has enabled me to be more flexible and adapt each teaching experience to my students personalities and cultural backgrounds. I believe in honing into the unique strengths and capabilities of each student and this makes every teaching relationship special and considerably impactful, and no experience is the same. I believe in bringing a holistic approach to education by merging self-education with formal education for a longer lasting development.

I also have experience in working in the professional world through event organising, personal assisting, freelance journalism, administration and communications. This has allowed me to develop skills of articulation, presentation, organisation, diary management, travel planning as well as oral and written communication. I work well under pressure and thrive when I must adapt. I enjoy immensely being able to make my boss’ lives easier and facilitate the smooth running of busy days or events. Alongside my studies and work I have also volunteered for charity events, in a charity and holistic centre and locally for communities.
