Emily (24 / Ms. ), Canadian & Dutch, living in Canada looking for Au Pair job in French Southern and Antarctic Lands for 1-3 Months

I am a 23-year-old student at the University of Toronto, Canada. I study a double major in French and English. By the time I start as an AuPair, I will hopefully have graduated and be awaiting my acceptance to teachers' college in the fall.

As an aspiring teacher, I love working with children and have plenty of related experience. I worked as an assistant teacher for a local private school (kindergarten), I have also done co-op placements for grades 1-6 in local French immersion public schools. Before COVID-19, I worked as a Summer camp facilitator for our city with ages 3-14, where my partner and I were completely responsible for all activities each day as well as the safety of campers. In fact, we won an award for our 3-5-year-old program as a mother notified our boss that their child had become much more outgoing and expressive since our work with him. Since COVID-19, I have worked for two major insurance companies where I encountered French quite often due to Québécois clients.

I was enrolled in the French Immersion program from grade 1 until 12 and then continued my studies through university. I am quite comfortable in the language, especially listening and speaking. My writing and grammar are my trouble areas. I am hoping that the family I pair with will appreciate the additional exposure to English I can offer their children. I also sincerely hope to become more immersed in French culture and improve my French.
