Letter to the family

Hello everyone!
My name is Sélène (pronounced like Helene but with a « S » at the beginning), I am a 21-year-old French student looking for a host family.
As a full-time student all year and a retail worker during the summer, those past three years have felt a bit empty for me. Hence why I am finally taking the step to candidate as an Au Pair.
Being an Au Pair represent for me an opportunity to share and exchange experiences and cultures.
I don’t have the most experience with children but I did do some babysitting and I have my first aid diploma. Nevertheless, I am patient, understanding and organized. I am used to moving out and being put out of my comfort zone. I speak French, English and Spanish (even if I do lack some practice).
I am eager to help and would be pleased to offer my services to a welcoming family.

Experience

Being an Au Pair has always been an idea of mine. As I started learning English from a young age, I have been more or less close to its culture and the country that speaks it. However, even if I was lucky enough to travel to some of those countries, it never felt as « authentic » as I wanted it to be.
That is why now, as a young adult I want to concretely discover other culture and for me, there is no better way to do that than from within said culture.
Discovering tradition, foods and ways of life of the people as they do it seems to be the most enriching experience. Even more if those habits are being taught by children for whom they are the most natural. Kids can teach us a lot and I am eager to learn !
