Hello!! My name is Sarah and I am a 20 year old female. I was born and raised in a small town in mid-western Canada. I am currently at university studying for a Bachelor of Arts and Science, with a goal to eventually go into Early Childhood Education.

I am an extroverted person who loves to be around people. I have spent a few years now working with young children and have appreciated how these opportunities have helped me grow into a mature individual. I have never been an au pair before, but for the past six years I have babysat for multiple families, and have now had a couple formal teaching positions abroad. I love to be active and enjoy being outside. If you were to be so generous as to host me, I would work to create a healthy fun relationship with your children. Additionally, English is my native language and I would love to help teach you and your kids how to speak it too if that is of interest.

I love new experiences so being an au pair in a country that is foreign to me sounds very exciting. I am always willing to explore and try new things. I would be honoured to prioritize helping your children grow through new experiences as well.

Two years ago I spent six months volunteering in Northern Thailand at an elementary school teaching English to young students. The teaching position blessed me with experience and filled me with energy.

This past fall I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Guatemala for three months. In Guatemala I was able to learn some basic spanish, get a better understanding of the rich culture, and immerse myself in it through staying with host families. I spent my last month there doing my practicum placement at a reinforcement program in a rougher area of Guatemala City. I spent my mornings with the preschoolers colouring, playing with blocks, and assisting basic spanish lessons. My afternoons were spent playing soccer, making puzzles, and assisting students with homework when necessary. In just three months I was able to develop deep connections with the staff, the students, new friends, and my host families, which made for a difficult goodbye.

I am energetic and driven and I would absolutely love to put those qualities to work in an au pair or nanny position. I would be honoured if you would consider hosting me in your home. All the best in your searching!
