Letter to the family

Dear future host family,
Thank you for reading my letter and spending your time on getting to know me. I am very excited about getting to know you and looking forward to staying with you, but first of all I would like to introduce myself to you, to give you a first impression of me, my life in india and why I would like to spend a year in Germany.

My name is Saleena I am 19 years old and I live in India. I have a very close relationship with both of my parents and they support me in my plans of going abroad as an Au pair. I want to make new experiences. Therefore I want to go to Germany as an Au Pair. After my year as an Au pair I would like to go to university and probably study Nursing, because I really like to be in contact with people and especially children.
In my free time I like spending time with my friends who are very important to me. They always try to help me when I have problems and are always there for me.Another of my interests is travelling and getting to know different countries, cultures and languages, which is definitely one of the reasons why I want to become an Au Pair. Moreover I‘m very interested in cooking and baking, shopping and fashion and in photography.

Experience

I completed an internship at a kindergarten, where I spent several months engaging with young children, assisting in their daily activities, and fostering a warm and educational environment. My responsibilities included helping them with learning activities, organizing playtime, ensuring their safety, and assisting with meals and nap times. Through this experience, I developed patience, adaptability, and the ability to handle different personalities and needs among children.

Beyond my formal internship, I have also provided childcare support in my community. I regularly take care of my neighbor’s daughter, especially during nights when her parents are at work. This role involves putting her to sleep, helping with her studies, and ensuring she feels safe and comfortable in their absence. These moments have given me valuable insights into bedtime routines, emotional support, and creating a secure atmosphere for children.
