Monika (21 / Ms. ), Czech, Coordinator living in Czech Republic looking for Au Pair job in USA for 11-24 Months

Dear host family, thank you for taking your time to read my letter.
My name is Monika, I'm 20 years old and I grew up in a small suburban area in the end of a town called Tábor in Czech republic. A few months ago I graduated high school and since then I've been working. I like to try any different new things and I like to learn. I think that is one of my biggest motivations why I want to be an aupair. I've always enjoyed spending time with kids and I think that kids also always naturally like me too. My first experience with looking after kids was a long time ago when I played with 2 kids from my neighbourhood that came to visit their grandparents every summer, even tho I was much older than them.
My sister already has a daughter and because of that I'm no longer the youngest of the family. I think that being the younger sibling has always actually been an advantage for me because not only I've always had my parents to teach me and be the role models for me but it has also been my sister who I've looked up to. I think that this can help you mature more quickly which is kinda ironic. I also think that I've always been in a role of a therapist in any friendgroup because I'm very empathetic person and it is easy for me to put myself in other people's shoes. Psychology is something I was always interested in and I think that this can be really good quality for an aupair because listening to children and trying to actually understand them so they can feel heard and seen is one of the most important things for them.
I understand that being like a big sister comes with responsibilities, it can be really challenging and it's not always easy but I think I can be patient and I'm ready to master difficult and stressful situations aswell. I am good at problem solving and open to make compromises, I want to make a solution for everything and keep cool. I don't like to argue about anything if it is not a meaningful conversation which can also be hard with kids especially but I can make sure that I actively listen. My friends would describe as super honest, discrete, respectful and trustworthy. As I already said, I like to try anything new, so nothing your kids would want to do or try shouldn't be a problem for me. Another advantage could be that I'm into some things that are mainly associated with boys, like skateboarding, paintball or any gun-game and motorcycle riding (I definitely inherited that from my dad). Otherwise winter sports or activities are my favorite.
I expect from my aupair year to experience and learn about new culture and traditions from you, maybe also share something from mine, to grow as a person from getting out of my comfort zone and getting to know how it feels to live with a completely different family.
