Letter to the family

My name is Braxton, I love cooking, playing volleyball, and working with kids. I began working full time in childcare when I was 17. I have been a Pre-Kindergarten assistant and lead teacher, as well as a basic daycare teacher and babysitter. I have worked extensively with kids with special needs and needy families. My experience is mainly with behavioral kids but I'm neurodivergent so I'm able to easily identify and communicate with those kiddos who just require a different approach too. I love to make connections with families of all backgrounds and have begun looking abroad recently because many American families are not currently able to afford a nanny or childcare. If selected, I would help keep your children active and engaged, in addition to helping with their schooling.

Experience

I’ve babysat and nannied for many of the families whom I’ve met through work in Pre-Kindergarten education. The most difficult family I was a nanny for had four autistic boys from age two to ten. It was difficult to keep all four boys happy with the limited space provided, but we managed to make it work and we still stay in contact. Most recently, I’ve begun babysitting for a past student of mine who is five years old and his one year old brother. The issue with babysitting or teaching where I am now is that very few families or businesses can afford it. Many childcare facilities are being forced to close due to under-enrollment and parents are struggling to pay for a nanny or even an occasional babysitter. I love this work, but it is no longer sustainable in Trump’s America.
