Dear future host family,

My name is Elia, I’m a 20-year-old girl from Belgium with a passion for discovering the world and learning about different ways of life. I would be thrilled to become part of your family as an Au Pair.

The reason I want to become an Au Pair is simple: I truly love being around children and taking care of them. Their energy, imagination, and honesty inspire me, and I enjoy supporting their growth and happiness in everyday life. I also love cooking, exploring new cultures, and getting to know families and their daily routines. Being part of a family abroad gives me the opportunity to combine all of these passions.

You should host me because I’m a warm and enthusiastic person who loves life, appreciates the little things, and always carries a big smile. I value connection, trust, and mutual respect, and I look forward to building that with you and your children.

In terms of experience, I have a younger sister whom I’ve helped care for since she was little, and I also hold an animator diploma. I’ve been working with children during school holidays for several years, organizing activities, playing games, and ensuring their safety and joy. These experiences have helped me develop a strong sense of responsibility, creativity, and patience—qualities that I believe are essential for a good Au Pair.

Experience

Although I haven’t worked as an Au Pair before, I do have experience with children through various internships (“stages”) and through taking care of my little sister. I’ve also worked with children during school holidays, where I organized games, activities, and ensured they were having fun in a safe environment. On top of that, I hold an animator diploma, which has helped me gain valuable skills in working with kids of different ages.

I’ve never had the chance to go outside of Belgium, but there’s a first time for everything, and I would truly love for that first experience to be with your family. I see being an Au Pair not just as a job, but as a chance to grow, to learn, and to become part of a new family and culture. I’m excited about stepping out of my comfort zone and living a unique and meaningful experience abroad.
