Hello Future Host Family

My name is Samantha I am 19 and from New Zealand! I will be finishing my last year of tec studying a Bachelor of Applied Science (majoring in biodiversity). I have a passion for the environment and enjoy being outside. I enjoy doing a variety of activities such as playing sport, crocheting, knitting, walking, swimming, gardening, reading etc.

I would like to become an Au Pair so I can combine a love of children with getting to experience life in a different country. Although my sister is only a couple years younger than me, I always felt proud being able to help her navigate growing up whether this was with homework, entertaining her or giving my support. I am excited to join your family, being able support you with day-to-day life and create a bond with the children.

Please consider hosting me because I am trustworthy, hardworking, dependable, quick at learning and patient. I understand the importance of routines, safety, and communication, and I am always ready to help with both childcare and light housework.

Previous experience with looking after my sister has allowed me to develop skills in problem-solving, and support. I do a large portion of the housework currently and am comfortable helping where needed. While I only currently speak English, I know a little Māori but would love to learn other languages to help your children with language learning or schoolwork. I have a current First Aid Certificate.

Experience

I do not currently have any experience as an Au Pair or Nanny, however, have always enjoyed spending time with children. I have helped care for my sister, less frequently younger cousins and children of friends. I would be able to assist with homework, playing games, prepping meals etc.

I would like to become an Au Pair so I can meaningfully contribute a family and grow as a person. I am passionate about learning new cultures, languages, and ways of life — and I believe that living with a host family is one of the most authentic ways to do so. At the same time, I’m excited to offer my energy, positivity, and willingness to help in return.
