Dear Girl,

Welcome to our family! We are so excited to have you join us in Beijing and become part of our big, warm Chinese household. Let us introduce ourselves—we’re a family of six, and we promise you’ll never feel lonely here!

First, let’s talk about our "two grandmas." Grandma Song, my mom, was a dedicated doctor for over 40 years before retiring. Though she’s now enjoying a peaceful life, she still loves sharing stories about her career and giving us very useful advice as our family doctor. Then there’s Granny Cao, my husband’s mother, who’s the queen of fitness. She is good at tai chi sword and even played competitive volleyball ten years ago—it’s hard to keep up with her energy!

Our kids are 12 and 9 years old. Our son, Justin, is in sixth grade and a passionate swimmer—he excels in butterfly and freestyle! Our daughter, Christine, is in third grade and an aspiring artist. You’ll find her many oil paintings at her art corner if you like. I hope you are also an art lover so that you will have a lot of topics in common.

We’re a close-knit family who values traditions. Two grandmas enjoy making traditional Chinese food, such as dumplings, wontons and hot pot. By the way, we lived in the complex which is only two stations away from CBD of Beijing and there is a subway station in 5 mins walking distance. It will be quite convenient for you to explore the city by public transport. Our apartment complex also has a 24hours fantastic gym and indoor pool, which we think you’ll adore.

We’re here to support you, answer questions, and make sure you feel at home. Let’s explore Beijing together, teach each other new things, and create memories that’ll last a lifetime.
