Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Future Au Pair,

We are so excited to introduce ourselves and welcome you to consider becoming part of our family!

We are Jason and Natali, a busy but loving family living in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Jason is a full-time emergency physician, and Natali is a dedicated realtor. Together, we are raising our growing family: our son Cameron, born in September 2023, and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our baby girl in June 2025.

We live just 2 miles from the heart of the city and 2 miles from Fort Lauderdale Beach — close to restaurants, playgrounds, and shopping, all within walking distance. Our neighborhood has excellent free public transportation options, including the LauderGO! shuttle and the Circuit rideshare, making it easy to explore the area. Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) is just 5 miles away, and the Brightline train station — perfect for short trips to Miami or West Palm Beach — is only 6 miles away.

You would have your own private suite in our 4-bedroom home, complete with an en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and a balcony. We also have a pool, which we hope you’ll enjoy on your time off!

Currently, we have a daytime nanny, but we need an au pair to help on her off days and in the evenings with feeding, bath time, bedtime, and occasionally overnight if the children wake up and need comforting. We also appreciate help around the house with chores like light cleaning and meal preparation.

We are looking for someone who:

* Has experience caring for young children (including infants)
* Is patient, attentive, and kind
* Communicates openly and respectfully
* Limits personal cell phone use during working hours
* Speaks English (Spanish is a plus but not required)
* Is flexible, as our jobs sometimes require us to adjust plans on short notice
* Understands that no smoking is allowed in the home

We believe in treating our au pair with fairness and respect and creating a home environment where you feel valued and supported. We are also fortunate to have both of our mothers living nearby, so you will be part of a larger circle of family and support.

Job Description

We have a full-time nanny who works Monday through Friday during the daytime, and we plan to continue her employment. Once the nanny leaves for the day, we would need your help in the evenings with bath time, feeding, and bedtime routines for the children.

During times when your schedule overlaps with the nanny’s, we may ask you to assist with other childcare tasks, light household cleaning, tidying up after the children, or simple meal preparation. We value teamwork and flexibility, and we want to make sure that your time is meaningful and supportive to the family.
