We are a family of four living in central Kyoto, with two young children. Both of the parents are researchers—we teach and work in the fields of philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and technology. Our home is nestled in a quiet yet central part of the city, where we appreciate the calm and beauty of our surroundings.

As a family, we deeply value cultural exchange and the richness that comes from diverse experiences and perspectives. We are playful by nature and we like to fill our spare time and relaxing days with games, puzzles, reading, music, wandering around, crafting, and cooking together.

Job Description

We’re looking for a kind, calm, and creative nanny to care for our two young children in central Kyoto, and help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, washing dishes, etc. We are really open and excited to discuss with candidates and will further adjust the conditions based on their specific situation and skills. To an experienced caretaker or healthcare professional, we would like to offer approximately $800/month compensation + $400/month lodging support in case the candidate ends up living separately. The total would amount to $1,200, as a rough estimate. We should also be able to provide some support with your visa if needed.
