We just got our second au pair. We think the au pair program is really great and very enriching, as long as it is fair and trusting for all parties. So far we have only had good experiences. Our au pair is an integrated part of our family and not an "employee". We are very happy that she is here and think it is a really great experience. If it becomes concrete between you and us, you are welcome to talk to our au pair.

We would like the following skills and experience: Lots of love for children and lots of childcare experience! A desire to be part of our family and enjoy the German culture and language. We are not looking for a pure worker, but would like to welcome you as a member of our family. A lot of reliability, a sense of responsibility, punctuality, a sense of cleanliness and initiative and perhaps a few creative ideas for activities with the children. Good knowledge of German and good communication. Mutual support in everyday life. We do not expect you to speak perfect German, which is why you are here, but basic, good communication should be possible. Here you will also attend a German course, which we will of course co-finance for you (70€/month). We also speak English and a little French.

We would like you to have a certain level of independence and maturity and to see where there is a need and to be flexible in an emergency if the situation requires it, for example if a child should become ill.... In return, you can rely on us to support you in all matters and not exceed your working hours. Of course, we will support you throughout your stay and welcome you as part of our family. We also try to make it possible for you to use the weekends for short trips if the grandparents can take care of the children.

Your daily tasks include: childcare approx. 80% and help with the housework approx. 20%, totaling a maximum of 30 hours per week.

In concrete terms, this means, for example: helping with the children in the morning, breakfast, taking the kids to daycare. Then some help around the house, such as tidying up, emptying and loading the dishwasher, folding laundry... We expect you to be happy to help around the house. We also have a lovely cleaning assistant who comes once a week. You never have to clean the whole house. But to be fair, we expect help with keeping things clean, just like you probably do at home. It's mainly about getting the downstairs area, i.e. the kitchen and living room as well as the children's room, back in order from the morning. But that goes pretty quickly.

We always try to make a weekly plan beforehand so that you can plan your own leisure activities, hobbies and language course well. We would like to babysit in the evenings from time to time (maybe twice a month) but otherwise you are always free in the evenings.

We cover these costs for you monthly as standard:

All child-related admissions/journeys
All costs that arise for you on family outings, e.g. at the weekend,
