Hello! Our little family is looking for a fun and loving granny au pair to stay with us from September 2025 through January 2026. Our family consists of myself, my husband, our (almost) one year old son, and our 7-year black lab mix. We live in a 1,500 square foot house (3 bedrooms, 2 baths) on the edge of Milwaukee, Wi, with a small yard and garden. We live on a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined street and we have a great neighborhood for walking. Downtown Milwaukee and beautiful Lake Michigan are 7 minutes driving and we live very close to a bus line that will take you there. Milwaukee is home to multiple professional sports teams, museums, and there is lots of live music. The parks and bike paths in the city are also great. Fall in Wisconsin is temperate, with temperatures between 15-28°C. Fall also has beautiful red and orange foliage! Winters are cold, with temperature typically between -7 to 5°C with a good amount of snow. We are about 1.5 hours north of Chicago and the Amtrak train runs there multiple times per day. We may be able to offer a vehicle for the nanny to use occasionally if they are a licensed driver.

We love to cook, and make a nice dinner most evenings. We would love to have you join us for meals, and even show us some of your favorite Italian dishes! All groceries will be provided by the host family. We generally eat light breakfasts (toast, coffee/espresso, yogurt, etc) and also a light lunch (sandwich, leftovers from yesterday's dinner, soup, salad, etc). and have a large dinner. We eat a lot of Mediterranean-style dishes with lots of fish, seafood, pasta, beans, vegetables, and interesting/flavorful sauces. We also cook chicken, beef, or pork, but that's typically only once or twice per week. My husband does not drink alcohol, but I will occasionally have a glass of wine or a beer with dinner.

My husband is a dual American-Italian citizen, as is our son, and I am working on polishing up my Italian language skills so that I can apply for Italian citizenship through marriage. Neither of us are fluent in Italian, and would love to have a native Italian speaker in our house to help us get better.
