Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello!

My name is Carmen, and we're a Spanish family living in the beautiful city of Ulm, Germany ??. I have three amazing kids who are almost 8, 6, and 3 years old — smart, funny, and full of energy! ⚡

At home, we mostly speak Spanish, but the kids also speak German with each other. Our oldest can already speak some English, and the two younger ones understand it quite well too!

We’re both working parents, and we’re looking for a kind, responsible, and cheerful au pair to become part of our family — ideally starting in July 2025, and staying for a long-term adventure with us. ?✨

Your main help would be with everything related to the kids — playing, helping with routines, and being a positive presence in their daily life

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, or if you have any questions, feel free to reach out — I’d love to hear from you!

Warm greetings from Ulm! ☀️

Job Description

The au pair's main responsibilities will include:

• Waking the children up and preparing their breakfast ☀️

• Helping them get dressed and ready for the day

• Taking them to and picking them up from kindergarten on some days

• Preparing and serving their dinner ?

• Helping with their evening routine and getting them ready for bed

• Keeping their room tidy and organized ✨

• Washing and organizing the children’s clothes and bedding

• Performing light household tasks related to the kids — such as cleaning their room, tidying toys, cooking for them (or yourself), and keeping your own room clean ✨

• Babysitting one evening a week while the parents are out (although we don’t always make use of this)

The total workload is 30 hours per week, and of course, you’ll have your own free time and days off to enjoy your stay in Germany!

==================================

And here’s what we’ll offer you in return, with lots of appreciation:
• €280/month in pocket money
• €50/month to help you attend German language classes
• A Deutschland Ticket – so you can travel freely on public transport within the city and across all of Germany
• Health insurance
• Liability insurance (Haftpflichtversicherung)
• Your own private room with air conditioning and WiFi
• All meals included, just like a member of the family

We’re really looking forward to welcoming someone kind, responsible and full of positive energy into our home!

Accommodation

The au pair will have her own private space, with a bed, shelf, wardrobe, and desk — and the best part: beautiful views, as the room is on a half-level at the top of the house ?. By opening the curtains, you can even see the sky through the glass ceiling — it's a really unique spot! ✨

The room is partially open (it doesn’t have a full door) and is connected to another space that we occasionally need to access, since we keep our dryer there. We always respect your privacy and communicate beforehand when we need to enter.

We're also installing air conditioning this June, because summers in Germany are getting surprisingly hot! ☀️❄️
