Lettera alla Famiglia
Dear Host Family,
My name is Murnee. I am a 27-year-old woman from Thailand, currently working as a Customer Service Advisor in Malaysia. I am writing to express my heartfelt interest in becoming your au pair.
Caring for children has always been a meaningful part of my life. After graduating with a degree in English, I took care of my younger sibling almost entirely on my own while my parents were working abroad. I prepared meals, helped with school activities, managed the household, and supported them emotionally. Through this, I became more independent, responsible, and found a deep joy in nurturing others.
Professionally, I have worked as an English teacher in Thailand for three years — one year teaching secondary school students aged 13 to 18, and two years teaching primary children aged 4 to 12 at an Islamic international school. During my first and second year of university, I taught these younger students every weekend. I was involved in fun and creative activities such as Children’s Day events, sports day, and classroom learning. I also worked as an assistant to a Philippine teacher, where I helped prepare lunch for the children, created fun games, translated between English and Thai, and supported the daily management of classroom activities. These experiences taught me not only how to teach, but how to care for and connect with children of different ages.
Although I haven’t had direct experience with infants, such as changing diapers, I am open-minded, eager to learn, and fully committed to adapting to your family’s routine. I have completed a certified First Aid course for Children and Babies and have been preparing myself through videos and learning materials to be ready to care for children of any age.
Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering, joining outdoor camps, hiking, and staying active. Living and working in Malaysia’s multicultural environment has taught me to be very adaptable and respectful of different cultures and lifestyles. As a Muslim, I follow halal dietary practices and do not eat pork — but I don’t mind at all if your family does. I am very open-minded and respectful of others’ habits and values.
Becoming an au pair is more than just a role for me — it’s a chance to be part of a family, to share kindness, culture, and create special memories together. I am also happy to care for children with special needs and will do my best to understand and support their unique personalities.
Thank you very much for considering my application. I would be truly honored to be a part of your family and look forward to the possibility of sharing a wonderful experience together.
Warmest wishes,
Murnee
