Dear host family

Welcome to my profile. My name is Alwande, 22F, and I am from South Africa.

My personality and interests:
I am a nature-loving, grounded gal with a quirky sense of style. I am talkative and also calm. A bit of an old soul, I enjoy listening to music like jazz, blues, soul (and Michael Jackson :D)... I consider myself a creative; I draw, sing and play a couple of instruments. I love being out in nature; be it picnics or hikes. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing experiences. I am a sucker for spontaneous weekend family fun time activities.

My life:
I have two sisters who will be 6 and 9 in 2024, although I jokingly refer to them as my babies. They are absolute darling angels and there is nothing I wouldn't do for them. We live with both our parents in a cute little suburb. We all spend most of our time together as a family -at home and out.

Why Au Pair
In short, for the cultural exchange. I've always taken care of children, so that comes naturally to me. So, when I found out there was a way to have a cultural exchange in a different part of the world while doing something I'm good at, I became excited. I have a passion for taking care of children and the tend to feel comfortable around me, so being an Au Pair would serve as a wonderful experience for both me and my host kids.
I am currently (Feb) obtaining documented childcare experience and will continue to do so beyond the minimum hours required. And if my prospective host family has a list of things they would require from me in order to make them more comfortable and at ease before taking care of their child(ren), I am more than happy to talk about it and work through it together. The wellbeing of the child(ren) is important and so is the relationship between the parents and I.
