Hello, I’m Risa and I’m interested to work as an au pair abroad! I was raised in Japan, the US, and Finland. Im so blessed to have been given the opportunity to live in all of these wonderful cities. After graduation, I decided to take a gap year to enjoy my life as a young adult and save money for my higher education. I would love to spend my gap year enjoying a new environment, learning more about child care, educating myself about child development and to spend quality time with my host family. I think I make a great candidate to be your au pair because I’m flexible, a fast learner, organized, and kind. The trait that I love about myself the most is being openminded. I’m not afraid to take risks, I take leaps of faith because I believe and trust in myself to make it work.

In terms of beliefs, I’m a protestant christian and follow Shintoist beliefs (shintoism is considered more to be cultural beliefs than religion), I’m open to being an au pair to a host family of any religion or culture.

I’m interested in pursuing a career in the neuroscience field. I have already studied Psychology (Higher level International baccalaureate.) I found the topic of childhood development to be very interesting. I learned a lot of valuable information on how to create the most suitable environment for each age group so I would like to apply that knowledge when being an au pair to your family.

Some other qualities I’d like for you to know about me is that, I grew up with a younger sibling. I used to tutor her all the time. I am particularly strong in math. If your child is in elementary or even middle school, I think I would make a great homework helper! I used to be in competitive swimming and gymnastics, so if your kids are interested I’d love to help them learn/improve in these sports.

I am open to suggestions to be the perfect fit for your family. I prefer getting detailed instructions about your expectations, and what exactly you’d like done in terms of childcare, pet care, and house chores. I want to minimize your worry as much as possible. We can communicate as much as you’d like throughout the day, I’m comfortable sharing my location with you, etcetera. Whatever reassurance you may need.
