Dear future Host Family,
My name is Thaynara, I am 26 years old. I was born and live in a beautiful city called Manaus, capital of the Amazonas state, which is in the north of Brazil. I’m the middle sister of 3 siblings, and today I live with my parents, Terezinha (60) and Adalberto (60), and my younger brother Lucas (20). My parents and older sister Nayara (30) are a great example in my life. The five of us have always been very close, we shared many moments together at home and outside, especially me and my siblings (the three musketeers). My childhood was very happy and fun. At first it was just me and my sister, always together and very friendly, until my brother arrived unexpectedly, becoming the older sisters of a beautiful little baby. We have always taken care of him and made all to be the best sisters he needed. I can describe myself as an open mind, calm, caring, honest, flexible and very organized girl. I like music, art and reading. In my free time, I enjoy going to the parks, riding my bike and I love to watch movies. I like all kinds of sports and activities since I’m very active. I love doing manual work like crafts, paintings, decoration, small renovations and everything that encompasses art, after all I'm an Interior Designer.
I’ve always liked to study and learn new things. I graduated in Interior Design in 2015. And in 2019 I finished my specialization course in Architecture and Interior Design. I worked in a few companies but now I've been working on my own since 2017. Within my profession, the true meaning of home for me is what prevails with the greatest importance, and this is one of the things I’m most sure of in life: a home is only a home when it has love, joy, quality of life and lots of affection inside it.
I hope that becoming an Au Pair in the United States will help me to have an outside view of the best phase of the family's life, childhood and children's growth, even more in another culture, so that I can improve even more plus my performance of creating spaces and environments that make this phase even more pleasurable. In addition to helping me speak English fluently, which is necessary for my career. I truly believe this exchange is an ideal path for someone like me, who loves children and is focused about achieving the goal: improving my English skills, getting to know and learning about a new culture, becoming a better professional and a better person. I assure you my application will show you that I’m really experienced with children. I have already documented over 8000 hours of working with children.
I've always loved taking care of children and always done it with my younger brother, my cousins and family friends. I participated in events and volunteer activities with children between 3 and 10 years old for 4 years at the Catholic church I attended. There I was responsible for creating fun and educational activities, with paintings, dances and music. I took singing lessons throughout (tru out) my childhood and adolescence, and I always really enjoyed doing music activities for children. I loved working there because it was where I truly discovered my passion for children.
I also worked as a caregiver (nanny) for a total of 4 years, and over 8000 hours. I took care of two girls, one of her when she was between 1 to 3 years old and then 5 to 6 years old. And the other one when she was 3 to 4 years old. I took care of their lunch, afternoon snacks, nap, baths, hairstyles, diaper changes, homework and playtime.
By the way, I drive and have had my license since I was 20 years old, I’m a strong driver and we always go for rides in the car park together. And I also drive alone everyday to get around the town for work matters or not.
I believe that children can teach us many things like humility, simplicity and honesty, which are things I learn from them every day. What makes me the most happy is when I’m able to put a smile on a child's face.I think it's very interesting and fascinating to be an Au Pair and to be able to learn and discover about the different parts and cultures of the United States. I feel ready to take on this new challenge for my life. I want to grow more as a responsible and independent person. I always do my best in my job and I will take my Au Pair tasks with perfection and will study hard. I had a beautiful happy childhood and I want to pass this on to the children I will take care of as an Au Pair. You can rest assured that you will get the best of me for your children and that my year as your Au Pair will be rewarding and positively memorable for us all. I've never been abroad and I can't wait to find out what it's really like to be part of an American Family!
