Letter to the family
Dear Host Family,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Nur, I am 26 years old and currently living in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
Let me tell you a little more about myself. Throughout my university years, I actively volunteered with various non-governmental organizations. I took part in several projects involving families, children, people with disabilities, the elderly, and migrants. These experiences allowed me to work with diverse age groups and communities, enriching my understanding and empathy.
Before graduating, I received a job offer from a foundation and began working as a general secretary in an institution that serves individuals with disabilities and the elderly. I graduated with high honors. Currently, I work as a Corporate Communications Manager at a healthcare institution. While my career has been steadily progressing and providing valuable experience, I’ve come to realize that what truly fulfills me are the moments I spent working with children, youth, and families during my previous projects. I’ve always been deeply fascinated by human nature, development, and how these connect with society. Especially, the bond I share with children has always nourished me on a personal level.
That’s why I see the Au Pair journey not simply as a job, but as a unique life experience based on mutual learning, trust, and shared values. While I bring a professional perspective, my main goal is to become a reliable and warm "big sister" figure that your child can feel safe and happy with.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time in nature, going for walks, and discovering new places. I’ve always had an inner curiosity about different perspectives and lifestyles. What led me to the Au Pair program is precisely this: the desire to explore, connect, and grow through new experiences.
To summarize, my desire to take a break from the structured corporate world, my goal of improving my language skills, and my longing to reconnect with children—an area I genuinely enjoy—are what inspired me to become an Au Pair. I’d like to live this meaningful experience at a young age, before starting a new professional path back in Turkey.
My language skills are currently at a beginner level, and I am very eager to improve them through daily practice and immersion. One of my main goals in joining this program is to develop my communication skills naturally while living with a host family. I do have a driver’s license, but I haven’t had much active driving experience yet.
Still, I believe I can be a great match for your family. I truly enjoy connecting with children and bring a calm, patient, and caring approach to my relationships with them. With my background in social work, I have strong knowledge in child development, empathy, and cultural awareness. I’d be happy to read with your child, do creative activities together, support their self-expression through drawing and storytelling, or explore nature through outdoor play. I would also love to introduce them to Turkish culture—sharing traditional stories, tastes, and customs in an engaging way.
I’m truly looking forward to meeting you and creating a meaningful, respectful, and joyful experience together. Please feel free to reach out with any questions—I’d be more than happy to answer.
Warm regards,
Nur
