Letter to the family

Hello, my name is Jennifer. I am 21 years old. I am originally from Madagascar and have been living in France for almost a year. Currently, I am engaged in a civic service mission in Lyon, and before that, I studied geology at university, which I plan to resume after a year as an au pair, I hope.

Carrying the desire to discover another culture, learn another language, and perfect my French and improve my english, the au pair experience seems to be the best choice. I love children and, coming from a large family, I am used to being surrounded by children, and I have experience in childcare and entertainment.

This adventure that I hope to spend with you will, I believe, bring me a lot of joy and openness, maturity, and connections.

This adventure that I hope to spend with you will, I believe, bring me a lot of joy and openness, maturity, and connections.

I am approachable, easy-going, always smiling, and can easily adapt to any situation.
For my passions, I enjoy reading, singing, and walking in nature.

In my current civic service mission, I regularly take care of many children of different nationalities gathered in a shelter. The children I look after are between 4 and 12 years old. We usually play board games, card games, ping pong, dance, sing, etc.
I am tolerant and sometimes strict when necessary to help them understand right and wrong.

In our family, I am the youngest, and I am fortunate to take care of my many nieces and nephews when I have free time or when the parents have to be away. I am accustomed to household chores and also love to cook.

I am a Christian.

This experience will also teach me to be responsible, make good decisions, and learn more about child education.

Looking forward to talking with you.

Experience

My experience with childcare began with my many nieces and nephews. I usually take care of the family's children during my free time, especially when the parents are away.

I choose activities based on what the children like, their age, and how they are feeling. Among the activities I have organized with the children are: drawing, painting, modeling, dancing, ball games, puzzles, and card games (like Uno and Mille Bornes).

Currently engaged in a civic service mission in a "welcome house" where several families of different nationalities live together, I also participate in childcare, entertainment, and academic support. I organize creative workshops, games, and sports activities, especially during training weekends for couples, a period during which we welcome many children.

I want to become an au pair in another country for various reasons. I am very interested in discovering a new culture. It seems to me to be a wonderful opportunity to learn how people live in another country. Being with children on a daily basis is also something that I greatly enjoy. There is much joy in sharing moments with them, playing together, and participating in their education.

I also see this experience as an opportunity to perfect my french, improve my english or work on another language. Living with a family seems to me an effective method to quickly improve my language skills. Additionally, I want to gain experience, travel, and have a good time. Becoming an au pair is also a chance for me to take a break and reflect on what I want to do with my life.
