The idea of becoming an au pair has been on my mind for a while. A few years ago, my cousin spent a year as an au pair and still has a close relationship with her host family – even though it’s been six or seven years since her stay. That experience really inspired me. More recently, a friend of mine decided to become an au pair in the USA, and her plans reminded me how much I’d love to do something similar.

I already have some experience with childcare. I often take care of my little cousin, which has taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and how to keep kids entertained and safe. I also did an internship at an occupational therapy practice, where I gained insights into working with children in a more structured and supportive environment. These experiences confirmed for me how much I enjoy being around kids and supporting their development.
