Letter to the family

Hi future host family! I'm Rosie – a warm, experienced nanny and au pair from Scotland, ready to bring calm, care, creativity, and homemade cookies into your home. ?

I'm originally from Edinburgh and currently looking to join a loving family where I can offer not just childcare, but true support, presence, and fun. I’ve previously worked as an au pair in California, and also have years of experience as a nanny and housekeeper — so I’m very confident managing a household with care, flexibility, and a smile.

I speak pretty good French and Spanish, and love sharing that with children through play and practice. I'm also a freelance baker, and cooking with kids is one of my favourite things to do — whether it’s family meals, little baking projects, or introducing them to foods from different cultures.

When I’m not in the kitchen, I love sports and art, and I always try to bring creativity, movement, and a warm sense of fun into everyday life. I’m calm, nurturing, and incredibly reliable. I'm here to create a safe, loving space where your children feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow.

I'm genuinely passionate about this work and believe every child deserves consistency, joy, and someone who really cares about their little world. I would love the chance to be that person in your home.

Thank you so much for reading my profile. I can’t wait to meet the right family ?

Warmly,
Rosie ?

Experience

I have lots of childcare experience both professionally and privately.

I recently finished my first Au Pair contract where I looked after a two year old boy in California, I loved my time there and loved my host family so I am excited to be an Au Pair again for the second time with another great family!

I worked for 2 years at a private after school club with children ages 4-11 where I learned so much endlessly helpful knowledge in caring for children, as well as the Getting It Right For Every Child policy. Additionally I also worked as a nanny locally, and I currently work as a freelance baker, and part time housekeeper!

I understand how unique each individual child is and can nurture each child accordingly.
I have spent many years caring for my younger brother who is autistic, he is amazing and I couldn’t ask for a better little best friend. I’m so blessed to be in his life and blessed with all of the teaching moments being his sister has given me.

Becoming a nanny abroad is a beautiful way for me to combine my love for childcare with my passion for learning about new cultures and connecting with people on a deeper level. I’ve always felt most fulfilled when I’m supporting a family — helping children grow, feel safe, and express themselves — and doing that in a new country feels like such a special experience.

Living abroad also allows me to grow as a person while bringing something meaningful to someone else’s home. I love trying local foods, and building genuine relationships with families from different backgrounds.

Being an au pair isn’t just a job or a vacation to me — it’s a chance to become part of a family’s story, to help create calm and joyful routines, and to be someone both children and parents can count on. That’s the kind of connection I value most.
