Letter to the family

Hi, I'm Elisa, from Italy!
I'm 19 years old and at the moment I'm attendig my last year of high school: in June I'll graduate and then I'm taking a gap year, before going to University.

When I thought about what I would do during this year, being an "au pair" seemed a great option, so here I am! I think this opportunity could help me to grow as a person and to discover a different culture, as well as practicing my English.
Moreover, having something to do with children is something I'm comfortable with: once a week I volounteer in a local organisation that deals with kids, since I was 14.
I believe to be a reliable and willing, at least that's what my friends and family say of me. I always try my best when I'm motivated, and this experience could be a good way to try myself.

I hope to get to know my host family and spend some time with them, also out of properly "au pair time".

Experience

As an au pair I hope to take care of the children as an older sister: if they want, I'd love playing, going to the park or doing homework with them, and also whatelse they want to (and are allowed to) do!
I'd also like to spend time with all of the family.

I believe that being an au pair is an important opportunity to challenge myself outside of my comfort zone. Furthermore I'll have the chance of meeting new people and a new culture, as well as practicing my English skills.
As my first long-term experience far from home I choose to be an au pair, because dealing with children is something I'm used to, so it should be a great experience and I shouldn't find any troubles adapting.
